Cilica, Vocal Coach
Cilica delved into classical singing at the age of 18 and continued to study the voice ever since. Her vocal interests have lead to the study of Western classical and opera singing while also performing and researching chants from Yoga, Buddhist and Christian traditions, electronic and acoustic tonalities of Western and Eastern vocal techniques, sound healing, extensive breathing techniques, and the effects of mantras on our well-being. She recently began to study Carnatic Vocal Music, southern classical Indian voice into her teaching knowledge base.
In addition her advanced knowledge of the voice/singing extends to training in anatomy, simple to advanced breathing techniques and public speaking communications. Cilica incorporated meditation and several styles of Hatha yoga into her Singing and Public Speaking Vocal Trainings, helping to diminish anxiety and fear, while improving posture, vocal strength and stamina.
Cilica earned a B.A in contemporary music composition & voice from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, Canada. Her training for public speaking and communications skills were cultivated for five years with the ‘International Training in Communications’ organisation. Earning certificates in Hatha Yoga, Chakra Yoga, and Yoga Anatomy opened a deeper understanding into her personal singing while freeing herself physically & spiritually.
As an intuitive, understanding instructor Cilica assesses singers and speakers abilities and areas in need of improvement by how they carry themselves physically before asking each to speak or sing. This is an extra tool she uses to understand challenges, and areas to excel for individual, and group excellence. Cilica treats each student as an individual drawing out their best.
The Confident Voice intensives are an amalgamation of Cilica’s experiences, training, performance, and love of the voice. Sharing her knowledge generously, Cilica’s gift is freeing, guide and balancing the vocal energies encouraging great vocalists, singer and presenters to shine.
With 25 years experience, Cilica continues to teach voice, music, vocal therapy, yoga / yoga therapy while travelling widely. She alternates between Vancouver, BC, Canada and Slough, Berkshire England having students in each country and teaches through the internet.
