Retreat Centre in India
In conjunction with Six Senses Yoga College, The Confident Voice is setting up retreat centres in the United Kingdom, British Columbia, Canada and South Kerala, India.
Fabulously an orchard with land for our retreat in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu was donated by Joyce D’Souza of India. She loves this land and believes a retreat centre built on it for cultural studies, yoga, singing, music and more is the was way to use the land.
Presently we are asking for donations to the Building and Develop of the 1st Retreat Centre in India.
Six Senses Yoga College’s Intent
We intend to build a community, refuge, learning centre centred around Indian culture and arts which will include Yoga, Music, Arts, Dance, Cooking, Ayurveda and life and importantly about living life in harmony with Nature. We intend to emulate the great cultural and diverse centre as the one Cilica stayed with for 3 months to learn Yoga and Karnatic Music and Singing in Kerala called Vijnana Kala Vedi.
Our goal is to raise £300,000 GBP / $450,000 USD
Funds will go to building the Retreat Centre Buildings, equipment, furnishings and permits. Land donated.
Tirunelveli
Welcome to Tirunelveli District, the penultimate southern most district of Tamil Nadu, is described as a microcosm of the State. The district has diverse geographical and physical features such as lofty mountains and low plains, rivers and cascades, seacoast and thick inland forest, sandy soils and fertile alluvium, a variety of flora, fauna, and protected wild life.
The glory of Tirunelveli District is the pride of Tamils. The crawling clouds on the Western Ghats, the picturesque Pothigai hills and the Courtallam water falls are the special features which make Tirunelveli unique. The district consists of all the five geographical divisions referred to in Tamil literature. The Western Ghats form the Kurinji (Mountainous) region; the Kalakkadu and Mundanthurai forests form the Mullai (Forest) region; the lands watered by the Tamiraparani and other rivers fall under Marudham (Paddy fields); the Radhapuram sea coast is its Neithal land (coastal) and the teri land forms the Palai (desert) region. The district is dotted with centres of natural beauty, pilgrimage, architectural eminence and memorials to great warriors of Indian independence.
